Whatapp reportedly started rolling out a new update for Apple iPhone users that will allow them to report status updates. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned messaging platform has rolled out a new beta update for iOS users that brings this new feature.
According to the report, Apple iPhone users will be able to see a new ‘report’ option in status updates with the latest beta version of WhatsApp. As the name suggests, the new features will allow iOS users to report status updates shared by another user that may violate the terms of service. The review status update will then be shared with the moderation team.
The report also suggests that the feature ensures that messages, media, location sharing, calls, and status updates are protected by end-to-end encryption across all devices. This means that the content of messages and private calls will be inaccessible to anyone, including WhatsApp, Meta, or any third-party proxy provider.
Company says that The new feature is useful as it will make the platform safer for all users.
The report adds that the ability to report status updates is available to some beta testers after installing the latest beta version of the application, and it is expected to roll out to more users in the coming days.
Last month, WhatsApp was reportedly working on this feature for Android beta.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the messaging platform announced that it is rolling out new features to its Status feature, including `Voice Status`, `Status Reactions`, and more.
